This gallery is specifically focused on Wedding Day portraits of my past couples, their bridal parties, and their family photos.
My philosophy is that weddings aren't an excuse to perform a two hour photoshoot, they are a celebration of you, your family, your friends, and your shared life together. But that doesn't mean that portraits aren't important, it just means they should be a part of the day — not the centerpiece.
That's why my goal as a documentary wedding photographer is to make our portrait sessions quick, fun, and authentic — so that you can get back to celebrating.
I don't do overly complicated canned poses, and I don't think we need multiple hours to get you nice portraits. Each of these photos was made during a "photoshoot" that lasted less than 20 minutes. Most of them less than 10, and some less than 5.
And most importantly, every one of these couples told me a variation of "we don't feel comfortable in front of the camera." By taking that pressure off of needing to have a perfect, magazine quality photoshoot, you will feel more comfortable and at ease. And when you feel comfortable, you'll look comfortable.

"I think when we were first looking for photographers, we both expected to be hounded for staged photos and directed to pose in very specific ways throughout the day. When you showed up and said hi and then just kind of did your thing, we were like ahhh this is why it works so well...It was also cool to get a sense of how you work... Enough direction while still letting us do our thing."
"We had both been in wedding parties before, and had the experience of spending half the day on pictures, perfect poses, and a thousand different staged combinations of people. We reallyyyyy wanted to avoid that for our wedding... preferred to have a photographer who understood our desire to stay present"
